Simma Rai is a versatile singer, songwriter, and composer from Kathmandu who transitioned from a career in computer engineering to pursue music. Known for her soulful voice and emotive storytelling, she creates a deep, introspective connection with listeners. Simma's musical journey began with the release of "Uda Timi" on Soundcloud in 2014. Noteworthy accolades include two nominations at the Hits FM Music Awards 2019 for ‘Naulo Bihani’ and a subsequent nomination in 2021 for ‘Maya Pheri’. Breaking geographical boundaries, Simma performed in prestigious international stages across Europe including Shambhala Festival, Sommarscen Malmo, and Ethno Krakow in 2018 with Night, a Nepali folk band. Since 2023, Simma Rai has emerged as the Singer of Bahaav, a new Nepali band that recently unveiled their debut EP, adding a vibrant chapter to the local music scene.
