Between Skies is a metal band based out of Boston, MA with soaring guitar work and power vocals. Their music can appeal to fans of Mastodon, Coheed and Cambria, Baroness, and more! Between Skies formed when Tommy Scales as a bartender found out that his regular customer Ranpal Chana shredded metal bass by himself but never played in a band. Tommy asked Ranpal if they could jam together sometime. Shortly after guitarist Paul Sugar and vocalist Oscar Derdarian III joined and the band began performing prior to the pandemic. Their last show in 2020 was on March 10, 2020, on the day that Massachusetts declared a state of emergency. Unable to tour, the band quickly set their focus on recording their debut EP Horizons which was released on August 3, 2021.
