When, where, and how had first life emerged? We establish a new academic research group, “Hadean Bioscience”, in order to answer these questions. (Hadean Bioscience is supported by JSPS KAKENHI Grant Number 2605)
The Hadean is the first geologic eon of Earth, extending 600 million years since its initial formation. During the Hadean when life was first born on Earth, environmental conditions are believed to have been extraordinarily diverse and dynamic. We identify the essential conditions for the emergence of life based on the knowledge and integration of earth, planetary, and life sciences.
