Barry Harris is a singer, songwriter, producer, guitarist/keyboardist, and creator of Barry Harris’ Kon Kan. He is co-creator of remix/producer team Thunderpuss. In spring 1988, Barry launched the project known as Kon Kan, becoming the first club DJ in the world to write, produce, and perform a worldwide Top 40 hit with “I Beg Your Pardon.” In 1998, Barry teamed with DJ/producer Chris Cox to form Thunderpuss. The duo produced more than 31 number-one Billboard Dance remixes for Madonna, Britney Spears, Cher, Mary J. Blige, and others. Barry is also recognized for Whitney Houston’s “It’s Not Right but It’s Okay” and “Dive in the Pool (Let’s Get Soakin’ Wet).” Barry continued the Kon Kan legacy with “Pardon Me / Rose Garden ’14,” claimed official Spotify artist page in 2016 and Apple Music page in 2018, and reissued Vida worldwide digitally in 2020. In December 2024, Barry Harris’ Kon Kan was billed on a Brazil tour with Information Society, ahead of a new LP released June 30, 2026.
