The Auckland Co-design Lab (The Lab) is a public sector innovation and capability initiative focused on equity and intergenerational wellbeing. A unique collaboration between local and central government we prototype, share and experiment with what more participatory and collaborative ways of working in the public sector looks like.
Supported by 11 central government agencies and the Auckland Council, The Lab works in partnership with The Southern & Western Initiative, a place-based socio-economic transformation unit in South and West Auckland. Together we work alongside whānau, ‘aiga, businesses, government, community, philanthropy and other systems partners to understand and foster the conditions for equity and intergenerational wellbeing and to promote, build and model the social infrastructure and ways of working that enables whānau and communities to lead their own fit for purpose responses to complex issues.
