PLAIN JANE, an independent Belgian band, was founded in 2019 by Julie Compagnon. Their music draws from a wide range of influences, from Sheryl Crow to Fleetwood Mac, and even Portishead, blending American folk, alt-country, and electro-pop with a Belgian twist. In 2022, the band was selected to perform at the prestigious South by Southwest (SXSW) festival in Austin, Texas, with support from the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles. Currently, PLAIN JANE is working on a new album, set for release in February 2025. This record will feature ten original tracks, with the first two singles, "Sad Story" and "Up To You", already receiving positive feedback on Classic 21, BX1, Nostalgie, and various local radio stations.
