The Extreme History Project is a 501(c)(3) non-profit public history organization based in Bozeman Montana that is dedicated to making history relevant for community, society and policy. Extreme History provides public programming around the region including a lecture series at Bozeman's Museum of the Rockies, historic walking tours, regional bus tours, a podcast, a book club, and workshops. We are also compiling the history of Fort Parker, the first Crow Indian Agency which was located outside of Livingston, Montana from 1869 -- 1875. Extreme History believes that HISTORY ISN'T PRETTY . . . but by recognizing and acknowledging its pain; its dirtiness; its shame, we can find a new way of reaching out to each other in tolerance, acceptance and unity.
