The archaic side-streets of Edinburgh’s old town are not often associated with experimental hip-hop, thumping UK bass music, futuristic lo-fi footwork and a passion for mid 90’s Star Trek. However, there is one new force on the scene which intends to change that… Operating out of a few bedrooms and one particularly dusty shed, “SKOOP”, are the grass-roots collective with their sights firmly set on pushing boundaries in sound. Their first release “SKP-VL:001” was a 18 track compilation featuring artists from Scotland and beyond such as, Cleaverype, Papillon, Laigo, CRPNTR, Pata, Tzusan, Foula, Dearly beloved and a whole host more.
