THE SLASHES: BORDER GOTH LUMINARIES
Emerging from Southern California, The Slashes deliver a striking take on post-punk, drawing inspiration from Interpol, She Wants Revenge, and Joy Division. The trio—Esteban Rene (vocals/guitar), Beto Bautista (bass), and Carlos Robles (drums)—has defined their own 'Border Goth' aesthetic, combining atmospheric guitars, pulsing basslines, and sharp, driving drums.
Their album "Embalmers Blush" showcases their atmospheric intensity, while recent singles "Espionage" and "Dead Majesty" demonstrate their continued evolution. Having commanded stages from The Observatory and Music Box to venues across New York City and Mexico, and sharing bills with The Chameleons, Glass Spells and Soft Kill, The Slashes continue to expand their reach while working with producers Alan Sanderson (The Rolling Stones, Elvis Costello), Ben Moore, and Manny Nieto (The Breeders, HEALTH).
