Tir Fada is a Greek-based Celtic music group.
Tir Fada (Tír Fhada) means “Distant Land” in Gaelic (a language spoken by a big part of Irish and Scottish people). But how distant can the music of this land be for Greeks, or how close can Ireland and Crete finally come? Tir Fada is a group trying to answer these questions. It was formed by the love of its members for Celtic music, considering however their traditional Greek music background. The first appearance of the group took place in the 3rd Houdetsi Festival in Crete in 2012. Ever since, it continues its presence in various musical stages mainly in Thessaloniki and northern Greece. A special moment for the group was playing together with Morag Brown, Lovisa Brown & Lewis Powell-Reid in Edinburg in April 2014.
