Srdjan Ivanovic is a drummer and composer currently based in Paris. Born in Sarajevo, Bosnia, he moved in 1992 to Athens, Greece, escaping the war. Music became a source of stability and belonging early on, shaped by late-night sessions with his father’s friends, including a classical guitarist and composer, and by exposure to a wide musical spectrum at home. At 19, he moved to the Netherlands to study drums, graduating from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and the Utrechts Conservatorium. During and after his studies, he was praised by the press for the originality and organic quality of his playing and compositions. He has received several awards, including the Dutch Jazz Competition, and was awarded a Prins Bernhard Foundation scholarship to continue his studies in New York.
