Nick Tabarias, known professionally as Nicky T, is a seasoned blues guitarist whose sound blends tradition with modern expression. Inspired by B.B. King at age 12, he emerged from Detroit’s blues scene performing alongside artists including Alberta Adams, Jim McCarty, Bobby Murray, and Kenny Parker.
He later joined The Alligators, one of Detroit’s longest-running blues bands, where acclaimed guitarist Ronnie Earl became an important mentor, taking Tabarias under his wing. Tabarias went on to perform with Earl at major events including the Tampa Bay Blues Festival, the Chicago Blues Festival, and the Blues Music Awards, while also contributing to five of Earl’s recordings.
In 2019, he formed Nicky T and The Snake Charmers with Frankie Lee (bass), Pete Berg (drums), and Andy Szymanski (keys). The band delivers soulful, high-energy blues influenced by legends like Magic Sam while bringing a fresh, modern edge to the genre.
