Stan Simon began writing songs in Toronto, inspired by vintage folk and country records from his parents’ basement. With a voice that’s powerful and heartfelt, Simon crafts raw, emotional lyrics backed by sharp harmonica and a rustic folk sound. His 2020 album Songs from Strange Places highlights his knack for timeless storytelling, echoing the spirit of classic balladeers.
Since then, Simon has been a semi-finalist in the International Songwriting Competition and toured across Canada, sharing stages with Chuck Prophet, Tony Dekker, Julia Jacklin, and others. He’s also appeared on the award-winning Folk Roots Radio with Jan Hall.
The pandemic ignited his passion for climate activism, now a major theme in his upcoming fourth album, Narrow Bridge. Influenced by fatherhood and mental health awareness, the album addresses change—both global and personal. Through action and song, Simon invites listeners to reflect and engage. Narrow Bridge releases July 9, 2025.
