Astronomy, space, science, and the universe! We are a friendly bunch of professional astronomers, teachers and science communicators who enjoy showing people the wonders of the universe through our telescopes and binoculars at the Battlesteads Observatory in Wark. (And many other locations around the Northumberland International Dark Sky Park.) Encouraging schoolkids to get stuck into STEM subjects is our number one priority and we deliver STEM activities, Mentoring and work experiences in schools, colleges, and libraries too. We set up the first ever Northumberland Dark Sky Festival in 2021, which was a fantastic collaboration between us and astronomers from Kielder Observatory, Twice Brewed Observatory and Stonehaugh Observatory. (This channel was set up in response the COVID-19 pandemic to get our message out to people who, due to travel restrictions, would otherwise have been unable to hear it.)
