Golden is located on the Trans Canada Highway at the beginning of Highway 95 that goes all the way through the USA to Mexico. Lots of Canadian history here and in nearby Donald BC can be discovered at the museum and by walking around. Stories of CP Rail, paddle wheelers, mountaineering, Swiss guides, forestry, mining and more. Nature and outdoor sports are the pride and joy of residents and visitors. See black and grizzly bears, deer, elk, moose, eagles, ospreys, hawks, wolves, beavers, otters, mountain goats, sheep and many other types of animals when you walk, hike, bike or ORV in the backcountry. There are many commercial tourism operators around here that can take you paragliding, whitewater rafting, touring, skiing, hiking, biking, boating, fishing, hunting, atving, sledding or go on your own by renting a paddleboard or canoe.
