Galen A. Smith Sr. is a digital creator, storyteller, and veteran journalist based in Bowling Green, Ky. Best known online as "Galen’sWorldBG," he blends karaoke performances, personal reflections, and Southern storytelling into a heartfelt, relatable creative space for his growing audience.
An alumnus of the University of Mississippi in (Ole Miss), Galen began his professional journey in journalism, working for several newspapers — including two dailies, a weekly and community publications,where he covered everything from sports, local issues, book reviews, police news, opinion pieces to human-interest stories. His years in the newsroom shaped his voice as a writer: observant, direct, and rooted in real life.
As a widower to his late wife Patty who passed away of Parkinson's in 2025, he uses his storytelling and singing as a way of healing and therapy.
