The Treble Boys 1983 independent single, "Julie-Anne" gained much critical acclaim in the music press including Billboard who called the release a "Top Recommended Pick". The band resisted musical trends and fads of the day and instead focused on strongly crafted songs and rich harmonies. Playing the NYC circuit from 1981-83 they were regulars at CBGBs and were even picked by club owner Hilly Kristal to be the first band featured on the CBGB TV Show. 20 years later, music journalist Jordan Oakes called to invite the band to be a part of the CD, Yellow Pills Prefill released by NumeroGroup, a compilation of that critic's favorites.
