ENGAGING YOUNG BRITONS WITH THE RELEVANCE OF THE HOLOCAUST
The University of Leeds School of Languages, Cultures and Societies is currently involved in an exciting new project which aims to teach young people about the Holocaust and engage them with the German experience of confronting such an event through the medium of dance. The university is collaborating with RJC Dance - the leading inclusive black dance organisation in the north of England – to create a performance piece based on this research. RJC Dance works with young people from all backgrounds aged 4-19 to create high-quality, artistic dance pieces which inspire a range of audiences. The project itself is funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council and aims to influence and encourage audiences to think about the impact that the Holocaust has had on today’s society in terms of how we view and deal with different forms of prejudice.
