Formed in 2001, Sunday Driver have spent over two decades creating a unique fusion of Indian classical, folk, prog and steampunk. Their 2011 track “Mechanical Angel” has surpassed 2 million streams, while their 2014 EP Flo, recorded with tabla maestro Kuljit Bhamra, broke new ground with its non-English lyrics and airplay on BBC Radio 2 and 3. In 2022, they released Sun God, part one of a concept dubbed “Spaghetti Eastern,” blending mythology, literature and cinematic sounds. Their latest release, Silk and Filth (2025), is their boldest yet, completing the Spaghetti Eastern —“part ghost story, part lament, part psychedelic opera” and “an extraordinary journey through vengeance, guilt and fire.” With multilingual vocals, layered instrumentation and imaginative storytelling, Sunday Driver remain one of the UK’s most original and genre-defying bands.
