Antonio Bras' live performance to the current version of METROPOLIS is without doubt a film-music-event in a class of its own. The symbiosis of silent movie and extraordinary live sound DJing transfers the classic movie into present times and unites generations. His complex sound collages and rhythms contain numerous elements of electronic pop from the alternative club genre, from Down Tempo via Trance to Ambient and Industrial. After a print of Lang's original cut of the film was rediscovered in Argentina in 2008, the Portuguese artist updated his musical interpretation in mid-2009. This was debuted on May 29, 2010 at the TIFF (Transilvanian International Film Festival) in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, in front of an enthusiastic audience of 1200 at the sold-out "Cinema Republica". The live performance received rave reviews (see below) and ranked second among over 400 movies rated by the audience.
