Denise Sawyer is a two-time Associated Press award-winning television journalist who is now working in West Palm Beach, Fla. Her career includes both television and radio experience.
At WBOC-TV, Sawyer worked as the Worcester County beat reporter. She ‘broke’ the story of a Maryland man who swam five hours to save his family who was aboard a sinking boat. Her story was picked up by Good Morning America, Inside Edition, CBS Evening News, World News with Diane Sawyer, WJLA, WUSA9, and Yahoo News. Her work with WBOC landed her a regional award.
At WRDE-TV, she worked as the second in command at the NBC affiliate in Rehoboth Beach, Del. From anchoring the Evening News to delivering a series of investigative work within the Cape Region, Sawyer had her hand in every facet of the newsroom.
In radio, Sawyer worked as an on-air talent for WZEB-FM. She was able to ‘let down her hair’ and have a little fun. Sawyer led a five-hour live radio broadcast every Sunday.
