Frank Zappa once said in a 1987 interview that the old-school record executives were cigar-chomping guys who would look at a record and say, “I don’t know what this is… who knows? Put it out and see if it sells!” They took real chances. Then the “hip” young executives arrived — often advised by hippies and focus groups — and suddenly nothing could be released until they were sure it would appeal to the kids. We miss that old spirit. At J. Falcon Records we release whatever music we personally love and believe in — no trends, no algorithms, no safe bets. From rock and jazz to electronic, experimental, hip-hop, metal, folk, or whatever genre feels right. If we dig it, it gets released. Expect raw, honest, and sometimes strange sounds. Music that doesn’t ask for permission. If you’re tired of the same recycled playlists and want to discover something real, welcome aboard.
