Wes Johnson Channel is supported by OurStory Network TV Show, which is a weekly, live, talk show seen in New Orleans, Louisiana, on Wednesday’s between 7:30 pm to 8:30 Pm, on Cox Cable Channel 76. The purpose of the program is to discuss, analyze, debate and inform the Black population of New Orleans on everything that has an effect on the Black Community.
Most outsiders of New Orleans have no idea how disenfranchised the Black Community became after Hurricane Katrina. In fact, few know how disenfranchised Blacks were prior to Katrina. New Orleans has always been viewed as a separate territory from the other states in America. The truth is, New Orleans was kept as a private colony, controlled by several countries while other states were practicing a mostly British colonization. It is because of the French, Spanish influences that clashed with the Indigenous inhabitants of what is now called (from west to east) Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida.
