Jackets have been together, in some form or another, since 2012.
Their first album, “Neighbours,” a short and scrappy love letter to the music that inspired them, was written, recorded, and released in the summer of that year.
Playing around southern Ontario, the band developed a reputation for their loud, energetic live shows that blend the tunefulness of vintage pop with the jam-band spirit of the Dead.
In 2014, Jackets released their sophomore album, “Endless Endless.” The songs are weightier and more developed, with more riffs and more hooks, a result of the band spending two years touring and tinkering with them. The majority of the tracks on “Endless Endless” were written by the band’s three principle songwriters in isolation.
You can catch them live around Toronto and elsewhere as they prepare to release their third album, “(Jackets).”
