Drawing on post-punk, Krautrock and psychedelia, Belfast-based quartet Junk Drawer’s loose brand of indie rock mines anthems from their crate-digging tendencies. Featuring four multi-instrumentalists & vocalists, they have built a must-see-live reputation, playing stages around the island supporting Built To Spill, Mclusky & Temples, and performing at the likes of Other Voices. Their DIY attitude is paying dividends, securing airplay on BBC Radio 1, 6Music, RTÉ 2FM, and increasingly from US college radio. Winners of Best Single at the NI Music Prize 2019, debut LP ‘Ready For The House’ was released through Art For Blind in 2020. Across eight tracks, the band deliver a brutally honest, yet sardonic exploration of identity, sexuality, mental health, and chronic illness. It placed in The Quietus’ Best Albums of 2020, and single ‘What I’ve Learned/What I’m Learning’ making the Hype Machine Top 10. Junk Drawer were also named by PASTE Magazine as one of 2020’s 13 Irish Acts to Watch.
