Damian J Sanchez is a native of the island of Cuba who has made music his destiny. Torn between the MIA of his upbringing with the Memphis, Tennessee of his artistic development; Sanchez aspires for greatness. A multi- instrumentalist of the highest caliber, Damian J is a worthy adversary on any woodwind. His essence is best captured by his vintage 1954 Reference Selmer Tenor Saxophone. After completing a Masters degree at the University of Memphis on the oboe, Sanchez set out to collaborate with every artist possible taking him to the ranks of such great organizations as the world famous Glenn Miller Orchestra for a 3 year engagement as well as paying homage to the riverboat excursions of Louis Armstrong and Jack Teagarden by performing 3 seasons with the American Queen, Delta Queen, and Columbia Queen paddle-wheel steamboats.
