The London Bel Canto Festival was founded in 2016 as arts organization in support of the art of bel canto in all its facets. The next festival and academy will take place during the summer and fall of with a festival academy August 2019 and is the opportunity for singers and collaborative pianists to spend two and three weeks with world-renowned artists learning the fundamentals of the art of Bel Canto. The London Bel Canto Festival is registered with the UK Charity Commission registered Charity number 1191941. In as much as Bel Canto is a repertoire, historical period and performance practice theory with its concepts and performance style, it is also as much about contemporary theatrical performance. To this end, alongside historical bel canto works, we will be developing new works by contemporary composers to help express the fullest of bel canto vocal principles in modern settings.
