DJ Yo! is a Cleveland, Ohio native whose love for music began at home—rooted in church choir harmonies and classic jazz records. Inspired by the Sugarhill Gang and Herbie Hancock’s “Rockit” video, he discovered DJ culture at an early age and knew he wanted to be part of it. After high school, Michael joined the military and invested in his first DJ setup, giving birth to DJ Yo! He went on to deejay professionally, later returning in the digital era and blending analog fundamentals with modern DJ technology. Today, DJ Yo! shares his experience through music, production, and his beginner-friendly YouTube series, Learn to DJ.
