ikeQ (Michael Cox) is a pioneering DJ, producer, and cultural force in the global ballroom and vogue-house scene. Raised in East Orange, New Jersey, he entered ballroom culture in 2003 and quickly became a staple of NYC nightlife. By 2011, he was performing at influential underground parties such as GHE20G0TH1K and TURRBOTAX and joined the Fade to Mind collective, releasing his landmark debut EP Let It All Out. Founder of Qween Beat, the first label dedicated to ballroom music, MikeQ has toured over 35 countries, bringing ballroom sounds to stages worldwide. Known for his high-energy sets and described by The New York Times as creating “ecstatic ballroom house,” he has appeared in Kiki, Pose, and HBO Max’s Legendary. He opened for Beyoncé on the Renaissance World Tour, earning Grammy and double-platinum credits, and remains a key figure pushing ballroom culture forward while preserving its roots.
