A fast-paced up in your face rock punk group from north van. Their sound is rough, loud, grungy and spastic, bouncing through melodies and rhythms with a dirty energy and heavy punch. They rely on distorted guitars and foot stamping beats that pronounce a singer swooning and screeching to a riled up audience. The band as a whole moves like a unit, with parts forever changing and evolving as the song rumbles on. Their sound ultimately becomes abrupt changes that can arc their way through fast and slow/loud and soft. This kind of songwriting makes for easy listening throughout the audience while also pertaining to a different kind of ear looking for something deeper and musically interesting as well. The softer side of the band is more transcendent and does not so heavily rely on distortion, but airy effects and melodic riffs. It is also not as dark as their more upbeat stuff, however still comes off as mysterious and slightly sinister in comparison. Empire is a force of nature.
