“Odyssey” is an exploration of the collective journey of 21 graphic designers; their identities, and the creative experiences they’ve endured both individually and as a group. The exhibition describes who they are, what they do, and how they got here. These designers began this year by reflecting on their practice throughout the past decade, and are now faced with the uncertainty of what lies ahead. At times, feelings of frustration and defeat were overwhelming. But with each new creative endeavour came new challenges, challenges that led to shifts in outlook and approach. These breakthroughs, along with the passing of time, have widened creative possibilities and challenged the growth of these designers.
