Los Angeles-based and New York-raised artist Shanghai Phantom is a genre-defying singer-songwriter and rap lyricist. Originally from Shanghai, China, he blends Alternative R&B and Trap Soul, writing in both English and Chinese. His debut mixtape, "Asian Spice," included the hit single "Du Yueh-Sheng," achieving over 40 million streams globally.
Raised by his grandparents in Shanghai's French Concession, he absorbed Western and Chinese cultures. In 2015, he moved to New York for school, receiving classical music training, and later relocated to West Hollywood, LA, to pursue his music career.
By 2024, Phantom had performed with CHASETHEMONEY, Justin Park, REI AMI, and Ted Park. He released "Water On My Wrist" with Ted Park and received praise from CHIKA, D Smoke, and Dumbfoundead. As co-founder of D4 Music, he has a diamond record and four gold records. Now a force in the LA Asian music scene, he aims to bridge East Asia and North America.
