Hands Across the Water runs seven homes and projects throughout Thailand supporting over 350 Thai children and their communities. While our origins date back to the Boxing Day Tsunami in 2004, the need to support children who haven't been dealt the best cards in life is very much still there. We are committed for the long term and that means that all children in our care will live a life of choice rather than one of chance. The kids who live in a Hands home come from one of three situations. They have no known family to care for them, they have a family member who is known to them but is unable to care for them, or they are living in an unsafe environment and have been placed in our care by the police or government. We believe in creating shared experiences. The Hands Community that generates the funds necessary to continue our work largely do so by participating in one of our popular shared experiences, such as our annual bike rides.
