Welcome to the YouTube channel for "Paul W. Thompson Music," for music I've written, music I've performed, or music I like! Paul W. Thompson is a Chicago-based professional singer, actor, musical director, pianist, teacher, vocal coach, composer, songwriter, critic and columnist. He moves easily between the worlds of classical music, religious music, classic pop and musical theater. A native of Nashville, Tennessee, Mr. Thompson was raised in a family of professional musicians and teachers, steeped in classical, gospel, country, pop, sacred and show music. Dubbed a "thin, winsome lad" at the age of 13 by a critic for the "Nashville Banner," Mr. Thompson has appeared onstage or in the orchestra pit in choral concerts, musicals, operettas and operas in 30 states, in a career spanning more than 40 years. A Chicago resident for 25 years, his career as a performer, teacher and writer is centered at Paul W. Thompson Music, headquartered in Chicago's historic Fine Arts Building.
