Somesh Yatham (b. 2003) is a Round Rock born percussionist and composer. Organizing his first concert at 14, Somesh, now certified Texas Young Master, has gone on to have his work performed or commissioned by Walsh Middle School, RRHS Drums, Tetractys, Panoramic Voices, and the Austin Symphony Orchestra as a result of his 2nd place achievement in the Sarah and Ernest Butler Austin Symphony Texas Young Composers Competition two years in a row. He has also got 1st place in the District Reflections competition. He serves as vice president for the his school's TFMEA and is a student leader and youth board member of the Golden Hornet YCC program . He's also a member of the Draylen Mason Fellowship as well as of Fear No Music’s YCC Program. He has had his music published by the Ars Nova Publishing Company as well as UT’s Apricity Magazine and aspires to become a film composer, working on all sorts of media. Mentors include Brian Satterwhite, Keith Allegretti, and Sean Harvey.
