SonaBLAST! Records was founded in 2002 by the New York film producer Gill Holland. In 2006, Holland relocated the label and established offices with a small team in Louisville, KY. Our catalog is much like its Louisville home: rich in great art and expression, defiant against archaic institutions, independent and true to its roots. Holland struck gold with the early signing of acclaimed Irish singer-songwriter and indie-film composer, Mark Geary. Over the years, the label’s artist repertoire has grown to touch all genres, from revelatory soul-singing cellist Ben Sollee (also composer of SXSW winning film “Maiden Trip”), to the mavens of dance rock, The Pass. We anticipate another successful year working with the free-styling word wizard Jack Harlow, hip-hop guru James Lindsey, (featured on cover of Oxford Magazine’s KY music issue) passionate indie rockers Quiet Hollers, urban gospel vocalists of WOKE, gender-bending feminist punks GRLwood, and more.
