Skynet is a global network of fully automated, or robotic, telescopes serving professional astronomers, students of all ages, and the public. Headquartered at the University of North Carolina and funded primarily by the National Science Foundation and NASA, Skynet's telescopes span four continents and have served tens of thousands. Skynet University brings the same introductory astronomy courses that we teach at UNC to everyone everywhere. These include: 1. Our "Astronomy with Skynet" courses, in which students learn how to use our telescopes, and then use them to learn astronomy. 2. Our "Astronomy 101/102" sequence, which does not use telescopes, but is a complete introduction to the solar system, stars, galaxies, and cosmology. Skynet University offers these courses online at minimal or no expense. Graduates receive a certificate from Skynet University. This site houses the videos that we use.
