Peter Rawson was a talented musician, songwriter, and creative force whose journey began in the small town of Wiccopee, NY. A fixture of the Hudson Valley music scene in the early 1970s, Peter performed at venues like Frivolous Sal's Last Chance, the Garrison Art & Music Festival, and Matteawan State Hospital. During this era, he recorded a collection of warm, melodic, folk-inspired songs co-written with lyricist Robert Swanson. In the 1980s, Peter reinvented himself as a composer of jingles, founding Rawson Music Ads. His knack for crafting catchy, pop-inspired tunes left its mark on local banks, jewelers, and car dealerships. From 1996 onward, Peter turned his creative energy to teaching special education, enchanting his students with sign language, banjo tunes, and whimsical songs that brightened young lives. In his final years, Peter returned to composition, writing music for film, including the short film Iris directed by Michael Teutul. His final soundtrack remains unfinished.
