Barefoot Doctors Sailing is a world-cruising sailing channel led by medical doctors and PhD philosophers living full-time aboard a high-performance expedition catamaran. After losing our brand-new Leopard 50 catamaran to a devastating fire, and drawing on 50+ years of sailing, 60,000+ nautical miles, and hands-on yacht-building experience (including constructing a 42-foot performance catamaran from scratch), we set out to redefine what a truly safe, capable bluewater cruising catamaran should be. When no production catamaran met our standards, we designed one from the ground up. Together with Portofino Marine, we co-created the Portofino 52 — a luxury expedition aluminium catamaran like no other, engineered for serious offshore passagemaking, safety, comfort, and consistent 200-nautical-mile days. So come barefoot with us as we take delivery, test her limits, and sail the world — barefoot, curious, and always learning.
