Hi my name is Gary Sakura and I am here to talk about True Crime while I ride my motorbike. YES its an odd combination, but I couldn't just pick ONE topic to focus on, why not mix them both together?
True crime has been a storytelling staple for a millennia, dating back to Ming dynasty collections of court case fiction and wending its way through many novels.
I totally understand why people are fascinated by true crime. It’s a life that most people don’t have. People fantasize about living outside of the law, they dream about what they can get away with. Maybe it has to do with bad TV, bad movies or better yet...simply bad reporting. Crimes can feel far away from us, making crime sexy; now that’s entertainment!
