Teebs Teebs (°1969,Yarmouth,Canada) is an award winning,Terran,multi-disciplined artist and musician who works in a variety of media. Searching new ways to ‘read the city’,he focuses on the idea of ‘public space’ where anyone can do anything at any given moment: the non-private space,the non-privately owned space,space that is economically uninteresting or sonicly bland. His artworks and soundscapes are often about energy (heat,light,water).Sound,space and landscape are examined in less obvious ways and sometimes developed in absurd ways.By rejecting an objective truth and global cultural narratives,he makes works that can be seen as self-portraits. Sometimes they appear idiosyncratic and quirky,or sound like a confused group of chimpanzees orating a church liturgy,other times,they seem typical by-products of N.American superabundance and marketing. His works are notable for their bio-mechanical and organic blends,perfect finish and tactile nature.
