I’m U2OPIA (pronounced as u—to—pia).
Music wasn’t my interest at all until I discovered EDM. I was always a PCM-loving, bookish student, deeply into academics rather than melodies. In December 2020, just after turning 18, I was randomly searching for a completely different type of song on YouTube. That’s when a memory hit me — back in 2015–2016, I used to hear a different kind of music from my dad’s phone while he watched videos on YouTube. Those sounds felt mysterious and powerful. Curious, I searched for hours to find them. Eventually, I discovered they were from the NCS YouTube channel. And the tracks I remembered so clearly were by Alan Walker.
That discovery changed everything. I found his channel, and my curiosity grew stronger. My biggest question became: How are these songs made? The answer, surprisingly, was already on YouTube. Soon after, YouTube started recommending Marshmello. Both of them became my idols. Their sound, energy, and identity inspired me deeply.
