HACCI was formed in 1986 for the purpose of promoting and strengthening the economic and cultural ties between Australia and Greece.
Through the years, the Chamber has hosted and co-sponsored functions, events, cocktail receptions, investment seminars, trade delegations, conferences and has also hosted and supported political leaders from both sides of government. The Chamber today is a multifaceted organisation that offers different things to different people and provides a forum for its members to meet, interact and exchange knowledge and ideas. It is a vehicle from which to gain an additional perspective and influence change as a united voice.
The Chamber has also fostered the HACCI Business Excellence Awards through which many Hellenic Australians and philhellenes have been recognised for achievement not limited to commerce alone, but has also included politics, academic achievement, the arts, young achievers, community service and philanthropy.
