Ambrosia are one of those bands that make the Yacht Rock label feel fully earned. Rising out of Southern California in the 1970s, they blended silky harmonies, top-tier musicianship, and glossy studio craft into a sound that moved easily between soft rock, blue-eyed soul, and polished pop. Their early work had a progressive edge, but they soon became masters of smooth, melodic songwriting that sounds best with the windows down and nowhere urgent to be. Hits like “How Much I Feel,” “Biggest Part of Me,” and “You’re the Only Woman (You & I)” secured their place in the Yacht Rock canon. What makes Ambrosia last, though, is that beneath all the satin sheen was a band with real depth, precision, and style.
