Michiel is a one-of-a-kind classical pianist where the past meets the present. “When I play, it feels like I’m connecting with the souls of the past—sometimes it’s as if Chopin, Schumann, Liszt or Rachmaninoff are beside me, guiding my hands.” Influenced by the Anton Rubinstein tradition and pianists like Hofmann, Friedman, Sofronitsky and Rachmaninoff, his style blends depth with spontaneity. Alongside classical repertoire, Michiel is acclaimed for improvising in the colour and spirit of composers from past and present—bringing a fresh, living voice to the tradition.
