The capabilities of this EV prototype will be tested on a 7,000-kilometre overland journey across two continents. The goal? To see if all, or any, of this is even possible.
In Greek mythology, Icarus attempts the impossible and, ultimately, fails because he gets too close to the sun. This ECARUS, however, can’t get too close to the sun – it is powered by it. Its array of PV solar panels will provide much of the energy needed for the trip, with the aim of maximising autonomy and minimising emissions.
