Southern Lights, a four-piece band, hailing from the Cape Winelands in South Africa.  Although forming as a cohesive music group of four friends in 2003, it was not until 2015 that the name “Southern Lights”, was proposed and adopted. A cross pollination of acoustic pop-rock and folk, intertwined with authentic, organic African sounds and finished-off with Triveno's distinctive vocals and falsetto, meant it was not easy to place the band into a specific genre.  Their sound was therefore something quite unique. Southern Lights consist of; Triveno Smith - lead vocals and acoustic guitar;  Werner Carstens - electric guitar; Jandré Viljoen – bass guitar; Gavin Young – drums and percussion.
