Mithril is an epic metal band formed in 2001 in Bogotá, Colombia, inspired by fantasy, melody, and the European epic tradition. Its sound blends symphonic epic metal, power metal, and fantasy metal, built on a strong orchestral foundation and a controlled, cinematic atmosphere. After more than two decades, the project resurfaces through the recovery of original home-recorded cassette tapes made under raw underground conditions nearly 25 years ago. These recordings were digitized, restored, and fully remastered with modern audio technology, preserving their original spirit while enhancing their sonic impact. The music was composed under a strict creative vision, using AI as a controlled tool for orchestration and composition. The lyrics were rescued from a handwritten notebook from 2001 and draw inspiration from 20th-century fantasy literature, exploring themes of heroism, darkness, destiny, and mythic conflict.
