RacingThePlanet’s 4 Deserts Ultramarathon Series is a collection of four 250‑kilometer, six‑stage footraces across the world’s largest and most forbidding deserts: the Gobi March in Mongolia, the Namib Race in Namibia, the Atacama Crossing in Chile, and The Last Desert in Antarctica.
In 2025, a new division called the UltraLite was introduced. This category follows the same course as the traditional 250km race but allows competitors to complete up to 125km over the week, with their gear, clothing, and food transported for them from camp to camp. Participants need to complete only 50 kilometers to receive a medal.
In addition to the 4 Deserts, RacingThePlanet organizes a fifth race each year in a new country. The next RacingThePlanet Ultramarathon will take place in Brazil in August 2027.
