The newer videos are inspired by Big Apple Jazz Tours - my specialized NYC guide service that takes guests off-the-beaten-path in search of improvisational magic (bigapplejazz.com). Many of these older ones are videos I shot in my jazz cafe in Harlem, NY. The club is closed now, so I concentrate on the tour business. The tours visit all the historic sites from where Scott Joplin lived and Billie Holiday was discovered to where bebop was born to where tomorrow's pioneers are working out their ideas tonight. EZ's Woodshed was the back room up in Big Apple Jazz Cafe, 2236 Adam Clayton Powell between 131st and 132nd streets in Harlem's Historic Jazz District. ~ Gordon Polatnick
